“The Paradox of Generosity”

wp-1477230928348.jpgChurch leaders meet this month to talk about the study published in the book by Christian Smith and Hilary Davidson.

Significant statistical evidence correlates generosity and greater happiness and reduced unhappiness.  Voluntary financial giving, volunteering, relational and neighborly generosity were evaluated in a diverse group of skit two thousand participants, and shouted a proportional relationship between giving and bring happy.

The authors note that in our culture which “celebrates individuality and freedom, generosity becomes a healthy form of ‘constraint,’ however interestingly this constraint really is not a burden and when practices right results in richer, fuller more meaningful lives.”
